HPC & Cloud for Life Sciences at Next-Gen Sequencing Data Analysis 2009

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2009 - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2009

PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND

Jason Stowe, Cycle Computing CEO, to Explore HPC for Life Sciences at Next-Generation Sequencing Data Analysis Conference

WHAT: Cycle Computing, providing proven, secure and flexible high performance computing (HPC) and open source solutions in the cloud, today announced that CEO Jason Stowe will be speaking at the Next-Generation Sequencing Data Analysis conference, Sept. 21-23, in Providence, R.I.  Stowe will explore the use of HPC clusters in the cloud and how life sciences’ researchers can use this technology to quickly and inexpensively perform sequence analysis.

Stowe’s presentation is entitled “NextGen Sequence Analysis Using HPC in the Clouds.”  The session will focus on HPC use cases and strategies for working with data in the cloud.  Additionally, attendees will learn about:
•    Time-to-scientific result and cost-saving benefits of cloud computing
•    Security issues to consider
•    Real-world life sciences case studies, best practices and lessons learned

WHY: Inexpensive access to large, ever-growing amounts of genome data have created an urgent need to perform sequence analysis quickly and inexpensively.  Cycle enables organizations to create their own personal supercomputers by providing secured, managed HPC clusters in the cloud.  By leveraging open source technologies, Cycle provides customers with unparalleled freedom and flexibility, faster time-to-market, increased productivity and a true competitive advantage.
